Getting the board ready

Ten rounds and the highest total wins against your last one. You can throw at anything you like, which is what makes it feel like a match: when a dart blocks the 20, you move. Enter each dart, tap the board, or type the three-dart total. Turn on calling your target and every dart also records what you were going for.

Why call your target here

Nothing in this game tells the scorer where a dart was thrown, so without a call it records the score and nothing about aim. Call the treble 20, and a dart in the 5 now says something: you went for the 20 and drifted left. Keep the call set while you stay on the 20, and change it when you switch to the 19. Those calls feed the same aim analysis as your matches do, once thirty darts have gone at a target.

What the numbers say

A total only means something against totals over the same number of rounds, so a best over eight is kept apart from a best over ten. If the numbers you remember came from an electronic board that plays eight rounds, set eight and compare like with like.
